Important Information About iPad Distribution

7th - 12th Grade

SJH Hybrid Students:  (Traditional Brick and Mortar Students) These are the students who will be attending SJH two days per week and completing on-line work the other three days with support from the regular classroom teacher.

iPads will be distributed in class during the first week of school, August 10-August 13.  The following must be completed before students will receive their iPad.

The Student Policy Manual must be read and signed in order for students to receive their iPad. This can be done electronically below.

 If this process is not completed on-line, a hard copy will be in each students first day packet to be signed and returned to your Homeroom/Academic Hall teacher. 

The Technology Fee has been temporarily suspended to expedite the iPad distribution.

Student Technology Fee
The administration has submitted a request to the St. James Parish School Board to suspend the collection of only the $50.00 technology fee.  The Board will consider this request at its meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.  The collection of the $50.00 technology fee will be suspended until the Board makes its decision. Should the Board approve this request, all previously paid fees will be refunded in a timely manner.

 

 
Full time Virtual students:  (These students will also receive an email on their school email accounts from the Virtual School Center with these instructions).  iPads will be handed out in person on Friday, August 14.

Virtual School Student iPad Pickup 

Date:   Friday, August 14.

Times: 8:00 AM -1 1-00 AM OR 1:00PM - 3:00 PM

Place: Back entrance to SJH (HS bus loading zone) main lobby by Auditorium/Gym.

Virtual Academy Updates

Please read below for important information for students that submitted applications for the Virtual Academy, on or before the deadline of Monday, August 3, 2020:

  • If an application was submitted for a student on or before Monday, August 3, 2020, the student has been accepted into the Virtual Academy. 
  • The Virtual Academy will send an email, to students and parents, detailing next steps no later than Monday, August 10, 2020.
  • If you timely submitted the virtual application, and do not receive the email on August 10, 2020, please call 225-258-4500, for assistance.
  • I-Pad pick up for virtual academy students is scheduled for Friday, August 14, 2020.  Pick-up will occur at the student’s home school.  Details regarding the pickups will be provided on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
  • If you have signed up for the virtual academy and have now decided that your student will attend school in the Hybrid Model, please send an email to studentservices@sjpsb.org no later than tomorrow, Friday, August 7, 2020.
