Important Terms
1 - Letterman – College Letterman must participate on a collegiate team and commit to the program for the entire season to earn a letter.
2 – Commit - A commit is a player who's given a non-binding verbal commitment to a school.
3 - NLI - The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a document used to indicate a student athlete's commitment to participating in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) colleges and universities in the United States. The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a contract signed by both the student-athlete and their college.
4 – Signee – student athlete that has agreed to the binding national letter of intent by signing his/her name to it.
5 – Scholarship(s) cover tuition and fees, room, board and course-related materials. Student-athletes who receive athletics scholarships receive an amount covering a portion or all of these costs.
6 - “Full ride” – is a scholarship award that covers ALL expenses related with college.
7 - PWO - Preferred walk-ons arrive to college with a roster spot guaranteed for them.
