Hurricane Ida System Updates Return to School

 • Monday, September 20, 2021: Pre-K – 12th Grade will begin receiving communication from teachers as the District moves to remote interaction this week. 
• Thursday, September 23, 2021: All Lutcher High School, St. James High School, Sixth Ward Elementary, Gramercy Elementary, the Career and College Center, Virtual Academy and Alternative Center faculty and staff will report to their home-base school. 
• Monday, September 27, 2021: Lutcher High School, St. James High School, Sixth Ward Elementary, Gramercy Elementary, Career and College Center, Virtual Academy and Alternative Center students will resume 5-Day in-person learning
• Thursday, September 30, 2021: All St. Louis Academy, Vacherie Elementary, Paulina Elementary, and Cypress Grove Montessori faculty and staff will report to their homebase school. This includes Head Start employees. 
• Monday, October 4, 2021: St. Louis Academy, Vacherie Elementary, Paulina Elementary, and Cypress Grove Montessori students resume 5-Day in-person learning. This includes Head Start students. 
• Current St. James Parish students who were displaced due to Hurricane Ida can now enroll in the St. James Virtual Academy. The application can be completed here: Virtual Academy Registration Form

Please Note: All COVID-19 protocols, including mandatory masks, are still in place.

Calendar Adjustments 

• Fall Break is cancelled. Monday, October 11th and Tuesday, October 12th are now in person learning days for all students.
 • Tuesday, January 4, 2022 is now an in-person learning day for all students. • First Semester ends on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
 • Thursday, January 13, 2022 is a District Wide Administrative Day. Students do not attend.
 • Second Semester begins on Friday, January 14, 2022. 
• An adjusted District Calendar will be distributed in the coming days. At this time, all other holidays remain the same.

• Registration for new students, K – 12th Grade, displaced by Hurricane Ida will open on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Central Office located at 1876 West Main Street, Lutcher, LA 70071, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. 
• Two Registration Events will be held as follows:  
Tuesday, September 21, 2021 9:00 A.M. – Noon at the PR Building
Thursday, September 23, 2021 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at the PR Building
 *The PR Building is located behind the Central Office in Lutcher, LA. 
Bus Address Changes
Current St. James Parish Students that need to change bus pick-up and drop-off address(es) can complete the form here Transportation Form. Forms are also available at the Central Office, 1876 West Main Street, Luther, LA. 70071, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.



Important Information About iPad Distribution

7th - 12th Grade
Student Policy Manual must be read and signed, as well as the $50 Technology Fee paid, in order for students to receive their iPad. This can be done electronically below. 9th - 12th grade student iPads will be distributed during Orientation. 7th and 8th grade student iPads will be distributed August 9th and 10th.

*Items may be picked up at St. James High (FREE) or shipped home for a small shipping fee. *Items purchased before July 7th may be ready for pickup during orientation. (Details on orientation are coming soon.)

Dress Code Reminders
High School
Uniform Shirts:M-F: Any school approved SJH t-shirt or Black Polo, White Polo or Grey Polo

Middle School
Uniform Shirts: Gold Polo
*T-shirt under uniform polo shirt MUST be white, gold, black or gray

Middle School
School approved t-shirts can be worn on Friday.

Red Stick Sports: All orders begin processing as a group once the online store is closed. This processing takes approximately 3 weeks. This includes ordering, decorating and packing apparel to prepare for delivery. Once complete, orders will be separated and packed by each customer's name with their receipt attached.

1. If you select "Pick up @ School" your order will be delivered to Ms. Moore at the Main Office for final distribution to the customers.
2. If you select "USPS Shipping"- you will receive an email with Tracking number once your order is ready to ship

PLEASE NOTE: all items that receive St. James high decoration are considered CUSTOM and are NOT eligible for Returns or exchanges.

The nutrition information provided in the link below is excellent for educating your student/s on the benefits of healthy eating, activity and wellness. SJH 2021-2022 FEE LIST for all SJH Students:

These fees can be paid with your credit card through SCHOOLBUCKS or you can pay cash at school in the office. 

STUDENT FEE                                         $10 

TECHNOLOGY FEE                                   $50                  

There are fees for clubs, extracurricular, dual enrollment online, elective classes, and labs.  These fees are cash only through the sponsor or elective teacher. The Student will receive a receipt. Click link to see the fees.
